Studio May 2009 Art Lesson in the Studio ![]() My young friend Emily sometimes takes piano lessons from me and sometimes we do art instead. She decided to make a painting for her mom and we worked on it in two sessions. First she decided on a motif and color palette, then we planned out her color placement ![]() and cut out her heart design to trace. We then chose some ribbons for borders and some collage-on extra hearts, added glitter, let it dry, and outlined some areas with Sharpies. Voila! Emily was so funny. Her little friends were waiting outside the studio window for her to make her presentation to her mom. She grinned at them and shrugged. "Show business." she said. Emily and I have been buddies since she was 2 or 3. I met her mom in a Feng Shui study group and we have been good friends since. Emily’s older siblings took piano lessons for awhile and Emily was usually trying to reach the keyboard to see what was happening. Now it’s her turn and she’s going for it. melissa |
