Welcome
back to the Studio. My clever husband found a tiny air conditioner at a
Goodwill store and cut a tiny hole in the wall, installed it and
yesterday when it was 92 degrees outdoors, I was comfy and working hard. |
Since this has increased my energy
usage, I’m consciously watching and cutting anywhere else I can.
|
It’s
official: I love collage.
With two Art Journaling classes going this
summer, I decided to work on a sun-themed Moleskin journal.
These works
usually start with a
watercolor wash, followed by collage pieces from photos I’ve
taken.

Using a
portion of the sun (or sun-shaped object) in the
photo, I then draw the remainder of the object and try to relate it to
any other objects on the page.

Then comes
altering and layering, when
I’m using acrylic paints, Sharpies, highlighters and Painter pens.

The Seat of the Pants aspect of this is what attracts me to it.
Each
step suggests the next and pretty soon you’re just on a creative ride.
Hang on and Have Fun!
