Hi Melissa and fellow artists,
I tried a new twist on the Definition Painting. Instead of doing the acrylic paint scraping, I did a wet on wet watercolor with splotches of color, let it dry, then used a black marker to do the definition part. It's a very different "feel" than the acrylic. I will show it to you in class.

Hi Melissa,
I am so glad I can come to your art class. It is one of the highlights of my week. You set such a fun, positive, encouraging, creative atmosphere in the class. It is very healing to be in your class. I had fun starting my altered book. While the sale was still on, I picked up 6 more books at 25 cents each for other class members to use. For some of them, it might be hard to arrange transportation to get a used book.

Melissa, Just checking out your altered book info and pictures. Genius! I hope you can help me in class so I can do an altered book I can be proud of! (I'm not doubting your abilities, only my own.) Love, faith

 Good Morning Melissa,
I was feeling a bit nostalgic this a.m. & loved coming to your site & seeing family.
While 2008 was a year of such great loss, it was also a year of great personal growth.Keeping Majella,Gail & George all tucked in a special place in my heart has helped so very much.
As my hubby & I begin our new business, I like to think I carry the strength each one of them gave me, into the future.
Thanks for the reunion.
Kim

Melissa - You've done it again! Your Art Quotes page is marvelous and hit it just right with this home-snow bound old lady. Merry Christmas to you and Robert.
Melissa:
Thanks so much, Doris. If it weren't for my Studio I would have such a case of cabin fever! But I'm able to just tromp through the snow and ice in the footprints I made SIX days ago. Arteesta Cat (I fancied up her name because she's turning into such a little character.) no longer shows any interest at all in going outdoors. When I come and go, she lifts her head in slight annoyance of the cold blast.
I hope you have plenty of food. Stay safe - see you in January.

I love your tribute to your mom! I remember meeting her at one of your "openings" and she reminded me so much of my own mother. They gave us wonderful eyes to see the world. sally

I'm so glad you put the Rubarb pictures in - they show what a "pistol" your mom was. Now I know where you get it from! Love you girl!
Melissa:
She was a pistol, for sure! I'm more of a "piss ant".

Beautiful remembrance for an amazing woman. Hugs and kisses from Deb.
BTW, the bug in my pic is my granddaughter, Rowan. I hope she grows up strong and beautiful like Melissa and her mother.
Melissa:
Thanks so much for the adorable picture. What a sweetie-doodle!
