Melissa’s Studio April Message 2009
  Spring is showing up around the Studio and it’s been one year since I resumed these monthly messages. We’ve all seen major change in the last year, some of it so encouraging and some majorly unsettling.  Personally I’ve had challenges that might have derailed me in younger days.  Some say I’m permanently derailed by choice, but that’s one of the attractions of being an artist.

 

I feel such gratitude for having  art in my life and a place to do it. Having this ability to share art, instructions and encouragement is only possible through the incredible talent and generosity of Nancy Webster. She designed and maintains this site, makes and ships my products and directs my videos. See her beautiful work at   http://kan2.com/ .  Her husband Dick Webster is a videographer and does the lighting. We’re planning another video soon.




This time of year I'm drawn (a little art humor there) back to sketch pads and art journals. As the weather gets better I’m more on the move and feel like there is less time to paint. But this need not be a problem with a compact traveling art kit. Go back to my Art Lessons 1 and 2 for supplies and ideas. Meanwhile, here are a few pages I’ve done recently.
